HISTORY
The new stadium is meant to be very similar in design to the original Yankee Stadium, both in its original 1923 state and its post-renovation state in 1976. The playing field that closely mimics the 1988–2008 dimensions of the old park.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
To design a state-of-the-art surface and sub-surface drainage collection system for the stadium baseball field. The main ballpark stadium playing field is natural turf (Kentucky Bluegrass) playing field surface. The surface grading of the playing field was designed to meet the MLB standards. The master under drain collection systems (featuring over 14,000 feet of pipe) that makes the field playable one (1) hour after taking 2 inches of rain.
The dimensions of the field precisely mimic that of the old Yankee Stadium, and the scalloped grandstand facade it also meant to invoke the old ballpark in the Bronx. When completed, the $1.5 billion overall construction cost makes it not only the most expensive baseball stadium ever built, but the second-most expensive stadium of any kind.
