SCOPE OF SERVICES

FTE was retained to provide full civil engineering, data collection, master planning and completed playing field design documents and specifications for the new natural turf half field and additional bullpen locations for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Florida Marlins. The master plan required review and approval of West Palm Beach County and the Town of Jupiter. The renovations proposed required the creation of a master plan reflexing all the past improvements to the facility since its original opening. The design was required to be fast track because of the reduction in the construction schedule to have these improvements ready to play prior to the beginning of the 2017 spring training season. Working with the on-site head groundskeeper and the playing field contractor directly resulted in the necessary improvements to be constructed in accordance with the limited time available.

The phase one improvements include: The natural turf half field complete with fencing, gates, in-skin area, warning track material and the installation of Bermuda 419 sod using 42” rolls. The bull pen constructed was constructed to MLB standards. The only outstanding item that needs to be corected this current year is the height of the bull pen fencing behind the pitching mounds to increase the current fencing to 12’ feet or greater with wind screen added to increase catchers visibility during practice.

Future bull pens will be added to the facility after the completion of the 2017 spring training season. No actual start date has been established as of this date.
