Project Description

FTE was selected as part of the overall project management team to oversee the playing field peer view, QA/QC soil testing and construction administration for the construction of fifteen (15) natural turf MLB baseball fields and two (2) synthetic agility fields. All practice baseball fields are being sprigged using Platinum TE Paspalum. The stadium field will be sodded using the same Platinum TE Paspalum in 42” turf grass rolls.

The project also included six (6) community multi-use playing fields located in the south grass parking area. The profile of the multi-use fields has been designed to allow for parking during venues and events with limited impact to the surface performance. Do to the impact of vehicle loading on the multi-use playing fields, Celebration turf grass was selected which allows for greater structural support for loading and player safety.

The stadium field, Major and Minor league practice fields have been designed to meet the U.S.G.A. and ASTM high performance sand based rootzone guidelines. The sub-surface underdrain collection system will allow for the playing fields to recover quickly after receiving frequent local historical rain fall intensities.

The master irrigation system has been designed to isolate the playing fields and common landscape areas on separate control allowing for greater flexibility in the irrigation management and conservation. The master state of the art irrigation system has also incorporated an acid injector system and master Hunter computer controller system which will allow for real-time flow monitoring and alarms.
