Project Details

Project Description

With a previous firm, as the project landscape architect, the responsibilities included design and construction administrative services for the playing field and stadium site planning and landscape design.

The playing field was designed with a synthetic surface and has been utilized not only for Gopher football, but has been the home for the Minnesota Vikings for two years (2014-15) and the new Minnesota United FC’s soccer team (2017).

The stadium itself was ringed with a bio-swale to collect and treat storm water from the surrounding parking areas as well as provide a vehicular barrier necessary to keep visitors safe during events.

The stadium was awarded LEED Silver Certification in 2009, the first college or professional football stadium to achieve LEED certification.
